HOW TO SUBMIT A NEWS RELEASE TO T-NET
T-Net's focus is on the BC technology industry and we focus primarily on reporting news related to technology companies, industry suppliers, and other "infrastructure" organizations within this industry.
We welcome receiving news releases from qualified companies within these groups, and we provide the following general guidelines and principles to help you understand how to best submit your press release to T-Net, and what we are looking for in general.
You can maximize your company's chances for publication on T-Net by ensuring that the news releases you send to us are well written, factual, significant, newsworthy, issued in a standard press release format, are not excessively "self-serving" or "editorial" in nature, focus on a credible established or emerging local technology company or industry supplier, contain a first paragraph that states succinctly "what happened" (in 1-2 sentences maximum), and by ensuring that your news release is submitted in MS Word format as an attachment to your email (the only format currently accepted). Please note that .pdf news releases are NOT accepted (yes - we know they LOOK good, but the formatting unfortunately makes them far too time consuming and difficult to publish in our online system).
Topics that we will often consider for publication on T-Net (subject to other criteria) include company earnings reports, significant contract announcements, senior management hiring announcements or board appointment notices, major product release announcements, significant mergers and acquisitions, major company award recipient announcements, and strategic partnership or alliance announcements.
As you can appreciate, T-Net receives a large number of press releases each day and we cannot always publish all of them. Generally speaking, press releases that do not meet the above criteria will not be published on T-Net.
If you are a "smaller" or more inexperienced technology company that may not yet be familiar with what we mean by "standard press release format", or who does not yet have an "in-house" marketing communications department, we strongly recommend that you consider hiring an outside public relations consultant or contractor who can assist you to prepare and write a professionally prepared press release that will maximize your chances of publication on T-Net (and through other media outlets).
Finally, please note that it is T-Net's business policy not to provide specific reasons or commentary for why a particular news release gets selected for coverage or not on T-Net, and we also do not provide "opinions" in advance on whether a particular company or press release is suitable for publication on T-Net.
As you can imagine, there are any number of criteria that may be involved in selecting a news release for publication and given the sheer volume of news releases that we receive every day, we simply are not able to publish all of them, or to provide reasons for why any particular news release was selected or not selected for publication.
Please note that we are unfortunately not able to accept or return any phone calls or messages inquiring about the status of a particular press release (for any reason), and we thank you for your understanding in this regard.
To submit your press release to T-Net, please use the link provided on the front page of T-Net (beneath the list of current press releases), or send your news release directly by email (as a MS Word attachment only please!).
Thank you once again for helping T-Net to continue to provide the best news service possible for the BC technology industry.
