Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Information Systems (IS), this position is accountable for the successful development, implementation and evaluation of the integrated Gas and Electric IS organization's Project Management Office (PMO); for ensuring governance of IS's portfolio of programs and projects, providing excellence in the provision of services and the enablement of the company's business strategy; and for identifying and implementing standard practices and project management methodologies and to track conformance of the portfolio of projects to approved plans. They have ideally driven modernization in technology delivery and culture in an agile way. This position ensures that the work of the PMO adds value, is relevant to the strategy of the organization, and meets the goals set for the PMO by senior leadership.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure IS projects are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner while meeting the needs of the business area.
- Be accountable for the implementation of IS sustainment and IS business projects, monitoring delivery to ensure projects are executed within scope, budget and time, proactively supporting escalation and management of risks & issues.
- Ensure project budgets and forecasting is done accurately and completed in a timely manner.
- Manage the risk, issue and change control process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed. Track and provide project status.
- Align change management responsibilities with project delivery.
- Facilitate among the PMO stakeholders and organizational leadership a consensus around the mission and vision of the PMO organization to foster a project-management-oriented culture and mindset.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Information Systems from a recognized program plus 8-12 years directly related experience in all project phases especially planning & implementation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Certified Project Management Professional preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge with one or more project management methodologies (for example, PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2 and agile).
- Proficient management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of project planning tools with evidence of practical application.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the PMO vision.
