BC Tech Companies Close 55+ 'Merger and Acquisition' Deals in 2021: Top 10 Deals Worth $5.3 Billion
Friday, January 7, 2022
Burnaby-based Teradici was Acquired by Computing Giant HP in a Mega M&A Transaction in July 2021 (Acquisition Amount Not Disclosed Publicly)
The top 10 transactions in BC this year were valued at a collective $5.3 billion, or an average of approximately $530 million each.
There were at least 15 M&A transactions reported in 2021 with transaction values over $100 million each (either BC tech companies being acquired, or themselves acquiring other companies), and well over 50 larger multi-million dollar M&A transactions in total for the year.
There were also a number of other 'likely large' mergers or acquisitions that we have not included in the above totals, simply because the amount of the transactions have not been reported publicly (but we presume them to be large based on the companies involved).
Examples of these would be Teradici's acquisition by HP in July 2021, or PSG's acquisition of Vancouver-based Traction Guest in December 2021).
