The utility will substantially reduce customer costs while improving efficiencies and the safety of its field workers
Richmond, BC, October 27, 2020--(T-Net)--A large investor-owned utility in midwestern USA has selected Clevest technology to modernize and consolidate its workforce operations across its operating divisions.
The utility will deploy the Clevest Mobile Workforce Management solution and field-specific applications from Clevest including map integration, scheduling, appointment booking customer communications, automatic vehicle location, time sheets, and skills management.
Clevest technology, deployed in a secure and robust cloud infrastructure, will support the utility's entire workforce, including more than 700 field users and hundreds of office users. By implementing Clevest's cloud platform, the utility will greatly augment the efficiency of its field services operations while reducing complexity of its IT systems management, which in turn will increase ROI.
The utility provides electric and natural gas to nearly 1.5 million customers across two states. Having merged multiple operations and other distributors, the utility has worked hard to consolidate IT systems across the organization, proactively modernizing its operation to replace legacy hardware and software with secure, digital technology.
In the final stage of their software modernization initiative, the utility needed to integrate the disparate mobile workforce management systems across its two primary operating groups. The operating divisions were using ABB's Service Suite mobile workforce management platform and ClickSoftware mobile platform.
"The legacy systems the utility had in place lacked certain efficiencies and made it difficult to streamline operations across its entire workforce," stated Carol Johnston, VP Product and Marketing, Clevest. "In choosing Clevest technology to upgrade its mobile workforce management capabilities, the utility will be able to substantially reduce customer costs while improving efficiencies and the safety of its field workers."
Designed to support its entire workforce, including 700+ field users and hundreds of office users across both states, Clevest technology will be deployed into a cloud infrastructure through a robust and secure implementation. Along with the Clevest Mobile Workforce Management solution, the utility will leverage field-specific applications from Clevest including map integration, scheduling, appointment booking, customer communications, automatic vehicle location, time sheets, and skills management.
"We are very happy to partner with this customer to deliver the best mobile workforce management solution for the utilities market," said Julien Marin, VP Global Sales for Clevest. "Many utilities are faced with similar challenges in consolidating their operations, and we're happy to bring our support to that challenge. Our customer has done an amazing job thus far bringing its various IT systems up to date, and we are honored to work with them for this final systems consolidation effort."
