Talent Technology Launches Next Generation Resume Mirror Extraction Platform

Vancouver, BC, September 28, 2007--(T-Net)--Talent Technology Corporation has announced a new initiative to develop its next generation resume extraction platform.
Resume Mirror extraction solutions automatically extracts information from online, email, fax and paper resumes and turns those resumes into candidate records in virtually any recruiting system.
Resume Mirror on-demand extraction software currently processes over one million candidates every month for its corporate and recruiting agency clients. Further, through OEM technology integrations with other software firms and job boards, Resume Mirror technology is additionally used by over 3,000 corporations daily processing millions of resumes per month.
The new Resume Mirror platform is being designed to extend resume extraction to support multiple languages and regions. Jade Bourelle, Chief Executive Officer of Talent Technology observed, "We are now supporting clients deploying our extraction software in China, India the UK and Australia and our next generation platform will allow us to drive further and faster to address our client’s global recruiting needs. In addition as our applications are integrated with international software firms such as Oracle and SAP, this initiative demonstrates our commitment to support their clients globally."
As part of this initiative, Talent Technology has partnered on a research program with the Canadian government and assembled an impressive technology team. As Robert Gordon, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer commented, "Our extraction technology has been developed over 15 years by an experienced, dedicated team. We have now expanded that team with some additional world class resources and we’re very proud of the fact that Government of Canada is partnering with us to support our international focus."
Leading the team will be Michael Wry, a product development executive with over 20 years of experience in content, document and digital asset management solutions. Wry was formerly with Axonwave Corporation, a provider of advanced content intelligence and search technology. Prior to Axonwave, Wry was at Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) where he held the positions of Lead Program Manager and Release Manager for Microsoft Content Management Server. Wry also held senior positions at nCompass Labs (acquired by Microsoft in 2001).
Other key new members of the team include:
Davide Turcato who holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a M.Sc in Cognitive Science and Natural Language from the University of Edinburgh, UK. Turcato’s background covers machine translation, computer-aided language learning, information extraction, content analysis, and cross-language information retrieval. His publication record includes numerous conference papers and journal articles, and he is also the author of various patents.
Zhongmin Shi holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Dalhousie University where he was a member of the Machine Learning and Networked Information Spaces Research Group, working on Web Information Extraction. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in Computing Science at Simon Fraser University, where he specializes in named entity recognition, relationship extraction, text summarization and machine learning.
Milan Mosny has extensive experience in the research and commercialization of natural language processing technologies. During his career, he participated in research and development efforts at the research division of Business Objects, as well as leading the development of natural language processing technologies at Axonwave Software. Milan Mosny is an author of internationally recognized publications in the area of natural language processing, and holds several patents in the area of natural language processing
Also providing guidance to the team in a consulting role is Dr. Fred Popowich. Dr. Popowich is a recognized authority in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Over a twenty-year research career he has produced over fifty refereed publications on the subject. His work in NLP is internationally recognized, and has been reflected in articles for the popular press in Wired, The Wall Street Journal, and the Globe and Mail newspaper. Dr. Popowich was a past president of the Canadian Society for Computational Studies of Intelligence and a founding member of the AILIA Language Industry Association (http://www.ailia.ca), where he is chairing the committee responsible for a language technology roadmap for Canada. He received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh in 1989 and currently holds the position of Professor of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University.
