The Opportunity:
As a Junior Data Analytics Developer, you will work within the Product Development team at our Burnaby, BC office. You will work closely with your agile scrum project team in a muti-disciplinary environment with active mentorship from senior engineering staff.
Successful candidates will have a solid technical aptitude, be detail driven and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
The Role:
- You will work on data analytics tools related to the improvement of the electric, water and gas distribution systems utilizing rich data collected in the Smart Metering system.
- Specific projects may include the development of visualizations using Tableau, development of data processing methods, and development of novel methods to provide predictive analytics including the application of machine learning to challenging problems in electric, water and gas distribution networks.
- You will develop a strong understanding of the electrical distribution system and concepts such as electrical power, power measurement methods, energy efficiency, solar power, electric vehicles and grid storage.
What you Bring:
Education and Experience
- Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related disciplines
- Experience with Tableau
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong visual orientation for presenting data and analytics
- Experience with data analysis in Python with NumPy, or another analytical language such as R
- Ability to work with SQL databases
- Background in electrical engineering is an asset but is not mandatory
