Overview:
The Software Developer is responsible for developing one or more parts of application systems (systems of engagement and/or systems of record) and integration with other systems, including designing it to fit into the architecture, prototyping the user interface, implementing, unit-testing, and integrating the components that are part of the solution. Typically assigned to lower complexity work with occasional stretch targets of higher complexity of work. Fully participating in activities that support the team's delivery and continuous improvement through assisting other roles with their work, mentoring and promoting a respectful and collaborative culture.
What you will be doing: - Performs agile software development activities as part of the team utilizing specialized tools.
- Performs core cloud services activities such as monitoring, logging and scaling.
- Performs many activities in the Dev/Test stage of the DevOps lifecycle including creating builds and performing testing in a technical environment with tools such as Microsoft Azure.
- Participates in team activities as needed, backlog grooming, sprint planning, team retrospectives and provide feedback on the overall platform and program improvements. This includes working with the Scrum Master, product owner, the team, the architects and any appropriate Community of Practice.
- Troubleshoots performance, reliability, and stability issues.
- Utilizes design thinking principles and/or user research methodologies.
- Manages the development lifecycle using tools such as Azure DevOps or TFS including customized TFS metadata, creating reports and integrating with tools such as SharePoint.
What you need: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 0-3 years of equivalent work experience in IT including one co-op term doing software development as part of an agile project.
- Relevant work experience with agile methodologies, cloud and/or DevOps environments involving development and unit testing is a definite asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Stack with technologies and frameworks like .Net, C#, JavaScript, SQL, JQuery, Angular 6 and up, HTML, CSS, XUnit, NUnit, Entity Framework, TDD, Regis Cache, Git. Exposure to microservices is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Practitioner, or willingness to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work
