Overview:
Situated within the Enterprise Analytics team, the Data Analyst resource supports program areas by developing reporting and analytics products that create transparent insights for decision making. This role combines technical expertise with statistical analysis to produce relevant insights, and communicate findings through effective data visualization.
The main deliverables will involve working with stakeholders and the analytics staff to develop reports that utilize data warehouse data. Initially, the Data Analyst will focus on leading the numerous Analytics projects that the 4 analytics staff members are involved in, before transitioning to developing dashboards themselves after a period of time.
The Data Analyst will provide the following services:
- Lead projects that 4 full-time analytics staff are involved in, including meeting clients to discuss the projects, breaking projects into smaller deliverables, guiding and assisting analytics staff in completing the work, assessing and improving quality of work produced, delivering work to clients.
- Mentor and guide 4 full-time analytics staff in terms of industry best practices, including dashboard design, quality control of produced work, client interaction etc.
- Working with stakeholders to assure quality and refine reports based on continuous feedback.
- Relating dashboards and reports to data available in the data warehouse.
- Working with stakeholders to refine dashboards and reports Querying the data warehouse.
- Working with business areas to transition reports and artifacts.
- Developing reports using B.I. tools (predominantly Power BI).
- End user training and handover.
- Other services as required
Requirements:
- A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience creating dashboards and models with Power BI.
- A minimum of three years demonstrated experience working directly with report consumers and other stakeholders to develop and hand over reports.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, computer science, statistics, or mathematics. In progress, education and/or equivalent work experience may be considered.
- A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with SQL.
- A minimum of three years (3) demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to create and refine analytical reports.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience leading and supervising a team of analytics staff.
