Overview:
The Senior Business Engineer is responsible for Business Analysis on complex programs or projects for major business areas. The position will influence, enable and communicate with all members of the cross functional team in order to clearly articulate requirements and solution options in business terminology. A key function of the Business Engineer will be to analyze solutions that deliver the greatest value to the business as well as use the business value to influence prioritization discussions. The position will be instrumental in providing modelling of processes, clarity of requirements and features in order to enable effective and efficient development, delivery and quality assurance. This position fully participates in activities that support the team's delivery and continuous improvement through assisting other roles with their work, mentoring and promoting a respectful and collaborative culture.
What you will be doing:
As the Senior Business Engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams, business users and vendors in doing the following: - Transposing business requirements and non-functional requirements into unambiguous user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Clarifying open questions and details before and during iteration planning by updating artifacts and tracking changes.
- Validating the requirements to ensure they meet the desired outcome/benefit.
- Designing information systems to deliver the strategy and business value based on strategic business acumen and understanding of the company's strategy.
- Applying knowledge of agile and scrum to help teams continuously improve processes and automation for continuous deployment.
- Creating options through team collaboration to remove impediments that may be blocking the teams' progress.
- Creating, managing and presenting non-functional artifacts through the iterative and collaborative process.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you need to have: - University degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 8+ years working experience as a Business Analyst, which includes 3 years direct hands-on experience in the agile practice.
- Preferred Product Owner certification as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), SAFe Product Manager / Product Owner (PMPO), IEEE Computer Society Scrum Product Owner Certification, Agile Certified Professional (ACP) or similar.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Extensive experience performing user research, analyzing user needs and solutions and aligning with business outcomes.
- Extensive experience liaising with product owners and developing design artifacts such as personas, journey maps, wireframes, story boards, user flows, process flows, site maps, prototypes and mockups.
- Extensive experience contributing to prioritization of backlogs, quality assurance and supporting team delivery.
- Ability to work with highly complex and integrated environments.
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Practitioner, or willingness to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work.
- Able to comply with company's Employee and Contractor Mandatory Vaccine Policy.
