Our mid size client within the FSI sector is seeking a qualified Intranet Administrator to work in their Burnaby office.
As the Intranet Administrator, you will be the primary owner of the technology that connects our business! Day-to-day, you will coordinate with stakeholders across the organization, maintain the intranet's visual design, work with site owners and content contributors across the organization; monitor analytics to gauge what content is working, and lead core administration. Most importantly, you will build "virtual headquarters", a place that connects employees, promoting transparency, and engages all employees in what matters most! You will be responsible for delivering first class support to the Canadian operations of a stable and dynamic company.
Specifically, you will: - Chair the intranet governance committee and coordinate activities across the intranet governance committee;
- Maintain a sound site navigation (information architecture);
- Manage the homepage to maintain a proper balance of content and tools;
- Lead projects to improve sections of the intranet or deliver new tools through the intranet;
- Monitor user-generated content for appropriateness;
- Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs);
- Liaise with the infrastructure owner and software vendors on technical questions of implementation and upgrades;
- Manage common administrative tasks in the intranet software;
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and involve them in planning and problem solving;
- Coordinate the efforts of central content owners;
- Provide introductions and training to employees of all different levels (including content owners, and power users);
- Create and maintain documentation, guidelines and governance pertaining to intranet;
- Provision sites in accordance with change management protocols;
- Contribute to the development of technical project plans and work estimates; and
- Ensure sites are configured in compliance with policies and configuration standards.
Technical Responsibilities: - Installing the SharePoint platform, integrating applications, and creating libraries;
- Adding employees, controlling access to document libraries, and setting permissions;
- Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint issues or malfunctions;
- Providing SharePoint support and end-user training;
- Performing data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss;
- Ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data; and
- Reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimized user-experiences.
To qualify for this opportunity you possess: - Strong knowledge and experience of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XSL and SharePoint client side rendering techniques;
- Proven experience creating custom site templates, master pages, page layouts and display templates;
- Comprehensive knowledge of SharePoint features, service applications and components;
- Good understanding of information architecture, designing user interfaces and web design;
- Knowledge and experience with workflows, the SharePoint Framework and SharePoint Online is an asset;
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a IT Development environment, with an emphasis on SharePoint solution design, preferably in the financial services or brokerage industry;
- An ability to research, learn, and apply new technologies and business knowledge;
- Keen attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving abilities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Technology or commensurate qualifications and/or experience;
