Our client is looking to hire a System Support Engineer who will be responsible for the following: - On-call support to external customers and partners via telephone, online, and email systems.
- Troubleshooting and providing workarounds to complex problems: consulting user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions for customer issues.
- Quality assurance testing and support of the Spectra ICS products.
- Deployment and monitoring of product releases and other miscellaneous software upgrades to our customers.
- Interact and work with Software Development teams to investigate and resolve customer production issues.
- Develop and maintain user manuals and other product documentation for user training and system operation.
- Provide on-site support and training to our customers, as required.
You will possess the following skills or knowledge, which you have gained through a combination of education and practical experience: - Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, time management and problem solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: able to work closely with clients and internal staff to understand and communicate technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers and partners: able to tactfully deal with and resolve challenging demands by customers in a positive and professional manner.
- Knowledge of Windows 2012/2016 Servers and Windows Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and associated services).
- Oracle and SQL knowledge.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations and work well under pressure with strict deadlines.
Qualifications: - Diploma in Computer Science or related field
- Clear fluent English is a MUST
- Willingness to work on a shifting schedule and occasional weekend assignments
- Willingness and ability to travel to the US to provide on-site support (<10%) They expect 2 - 3 days every 6 months
- Linux experience considered as an asset
