The role:
As the Director, Program Management Office you will develop and implement PMO processes and policies, direct a project management team, and work cross-functionally with other Business Unit leaders to define, prioritize, and develop IT projects and programs to effectively deliver initiatives and manage change.
In this role you will be pivotal in providing leadership for the implementation of highly complex, large-scale, strategic IT and business initiatives.
What you'll do:
Program Management
- Translate strategy into program governance and structure with core initiatives managed from idea to program to project / MVP to "Done"
- Stand up core governance and supporting processes for PMO
- Support facilitation of steering where business units defend their project and identifies the highest value projects
- Facilitate the management of IT projects portfolio across different BUs
- Build a project vetting and gating process to ensure project prioritization
- Drive engagement with leadership and orchestrate decision making across all levels
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with key partners across the company and represent the function in cross-functional teams
Operational Responsibilities
- Identify, scope and drive critical projects partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization
- Facilitate program/project risk management and issues resolution
- Identify and implement a value realization process that ensures projects are meeting targets and delivering to project criteria
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for program and initiatives
- Manages the financial aspects of all initiatives - costs, KPIs, value realization etc
- Facilitate the process of capital funding approvals for projects
- Ensure all program communications and status reporting to partners and senior leadership is conducted on a regular basis
- Support the project pipeline by leading resource availability, capacity and skills and project costs
Team Management
- Build and manage an impactful team
- Partner with management on key business and operational activities
- Lead a team that defines, documents, and standardizes business processes within new systems deployments and operational changes
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with key partners across the company and represent the function in cross-functional teams
What you'll bring:
- Strong practical experience in project management, and program management methodology including budgeting and resource allocation processes
- Experience in agile methodologies, preferred
- 10+ years business experience including leading system-enabled transformation across operations functions (including planning, logistics, customer support) in physical products companies
- Experience navigating across teams with objectives to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals, and objectives into project proposals
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree
- Strong leadership and relationship building skills to lead teams in distributed environments involved in delivering sophisticated business systems
- Strong executive presence and ability to engage with senior partners
- Meticulously organized and able to prioritize with business leads and defend prioritization
- Consistent track record in successful cross-functional program and/or transformational management
- Able to think strategically and make quick decisions to steer transformation successfully
- Strong communication skills and business acumen to ensure partner management (up/down/lateral communications)
