SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER

With over three decades of delivering cutting edge products and services to customers and business partners, our innovation and continuing success prompts the need for a Senior Program Manager to join our Engineering team based in Vancouver, Canada.
The Program Manager role manages various programs, both in new product development and services across hardware, firmware, and software. The senior level professional we seek will be someone who can provide both technical and personal leadership to others, possesses the skill set to do overall schedule assessments to manage interdepartmental teams, vendors, and customers and to communicate effectively both internally and externally. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and experience working with globally distributed development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple programs across multiple platforms and technologies
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate development projects as well as service projects
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Generate detailed program plans with cross-functional teams' consensus that meet corporate business goals.
- Identify risk areas and mitigation plans to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (incl. Business Dev, Business Planning, Product Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Engineering and Operations) throughout the planning and execution phase
- Drive and participate in recurring team meetings
- Participate in resource availability and allocation
- Work with cross-functional teams on issues and drive issue resolution in a timely manner
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and cost
- Generate and present program status regularly to executive management staff as well as customers
- Track program performance, and analyze success against personal and organizational goals
- Capture and drive process improvements opportunities
- Set high standards for personal and team interaction. Facilitate the resolution of complex team issues, build consensus, maintain process focus, overcome barriers, encourage, and inspire other team members and foster relationships with other team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in a related field or equivalent years of education and work experience, and at least 5+ years directly related work experience.
- Proven ability in program management, driving and communication skills, effectively managing projects and working with global cross-functional teams
- Passion and experience delivering high quality products and services
- Extremely detailed & clear communication skills
- Clear understanding of schedule deadlines and knowing when to escalate critical issues
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency with scheduling tools, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Good financial understanding
- Fluent with using issue-tracking software applications, such as Jira,
- Ability to relentlessly track and follow-up on open issues and action items
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment
- Must be very good with logistics, planning, well organized, detailed, and resourceful
- Self-starter with the ability to work through ambiguity and evolving requirements
- Experience working with multiple program tasks, setting the right priorities, and understanding program needs
Preferred skills:
- Background in SOM development is desirable, not required.
