Your Role:

Reporting to the Area Product Manager, the Senior Technical Product Manager will define high-quality technical feature requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to reflect business priorities on the product roadmap.

The Senior TPM will own the product backlog for their area, and work with various Tech Leads, Architects, and Business stakeholders to plan, execute and deliver their features. They will also attend daily stand-ups, groom their team's backlog, plan sprints, accept completed stories, monitor progress, report status, and be involved in key release activities including documentation and training.

There are two areas / roles on the Archive product team for consideration: Backend and Scaling.

Your Job:

Working in a dynamic team environment, the Senior TPM's responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a component / team-level backlog with inputs from product leadership, sales, support, and clients
• Deriving & defining product feature requirements and feature / project scope, based on business requirements defined by product leadership, or customer-facing stakeholders
• Collaborating at a technical level with developers and testers to identify the jobs to be done
• Documenting requirements into models, workflow diagrams, and task-related artefacts (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria)
• Performing related research / metrics gathering as-needed to validate priority & proposed value
• Identifying and coordinating cross-component dependencies throughout the development process
• Prioritizing and grooming their team's backlog
• Creating work estimates for project plans
• Attending regular team agile ceremonies (stand-ups, grooming, planning, demos, retros, product releases, etc)
• Providing technical documentation to customers or customer-facing teams to support your new features

About You:

• Degree in engineering, science, computer science, management or related technical field
• 5 years of experience as a Technical Program/Product Manager or Product Owner in a full stack or backend environment (Java and open source)
• Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Organized and strong time management skills
• Track record for successfully seeing through release from initial concept to full implementation
• Bonus points if you have experience with either the following:
  • Backend technologies for message queueing, encryption, distributed storage, or search / indexing
  • Scaling application logic for improved throughput, performance, reliability, & resilience
