Salesforce Application development is concerned with the activities needed to document and perform the implementation of an Application design. This may include analysis and development of the Application design, custom development, modification, testing or maintenance.
Expectations of a Salesforce Application Developer will include but are not limited to:
- preferably having Salesforce Platform Developer certification or a Salesforce Platform App Builder certification, or both;
- identifying and estimating required technical activities;
- leading Salesforce configuration, integration and code development;
- providing expertise on Salesforce design, testing, and deployment;
- defining technical work assignments and priorities;
- translating software specifications into code;
- documenting technical work;
- developing technical reference materials;
- monitoring technical work; recommending/implementing solutions to scheduling, logistical and/or operational problems;
- leading unit, integration and system tests to evaluate development outcomes, ensure conformity with user client needs and compatibility with policies and standards;
- ensuring quality control performed on all deliverables before handover;
- gathering and collating customer business and technical requirements, researching solutions and assessing feasibility;
- designing service components to address operational issues, and identifying integration and reconfiguration requirements for hardware and software;
- responsible for making sure that skills and knowledge transfer is passed from the Contractor team to the Ministry's technical staff and contractors; and
- installing and configuring new upgraded hardware and software on test-bed, testing and validating functionality and stability, and resolving issues.
