Position Summary
The Solutions Architect is the senior technical expert responsible for creating the Enterprise technical strategy for an Enterprise system and solution. Solution architecture is a complex process with many stages covering a wide range of issues geared toward addressing particular business problems. This includes: a) searching for the optimal technical knowhow to address specific types of business issues; b) delineating how project stakeholders relate to the structure and features of particular software, c) specifying the solution's functional requirements and the necessary stages for its implementation; and d) preparing specifications that set the boundaries for the solution's parameters and its final delivery.
As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
Responsibilities
- Leads ARC (Architecture Review Committee) working group, project teams and committees composed of cross functional/department specialists, information management specialists, operations staff and consultants to develop and Review Enterprise Solutions.
- Acts as a resident expert on Solutions and Enterprise Architecture, which provides senior management with strategic direction for FNHA information technology road maps.
- Collaborates with all FNHA business leaders to design Enterprise Solutions that meet FNHA's needs.
- Ensures the appropriate technology can meet internal business demands of the FNHA systems, including planning of IT resources and budget requirements.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on Enterprise systems projects, infrastructure technologies, and provides advice on industry best practices by continuously conducting internal and external research and developing knowledge related to Technologies.
- Assesses current Enterprise systems and makes recommendations and oversees the implementation during various stages of product life cycle, such as introduction of new components, growing current infrastructure, maintaining and ensuring updates, and phasing out products that are no longer needed.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance services and/or reduce operational costs, evaluating and recommending acquisition of alternate solutions and products.
- Designs, develops, implements and maintains utilities and layered products designed to support systems management, security reporting, queue management, operations.
- Conducts technical quality assurance audits and post-implementation reviews for projects and maintenance of custom applications, ensuring conformity with user client needs and compatibility with FNHA's Enterprise Architecture standards.
- Represents FNHA IMIT at the various Provincial and Regional Health Authority working groups.

Qualifications
Education
- University degree in the field of Computer Science or Management Information Systems or a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Occupational Certification
- CCIE, MCSE or other related senior expert level certifications are a asset
- TOGAF Certification
- ITIL Master Certification
Experience
- Must have at least 15 years or more experience in Information Technology Solutions and Enterprise Architecture.
- Experience working in a Health-related organization is an asset.
- Experience, developing action plans, and leading technical teams for large Enterprise Technology projects.
- Experience with working in Mid to Large size organizations with high complex information technologies
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Knowledge/Skills
- Understanding of processes and how all parts of the business model work together including processes, operating systems, and application architectures to design a specific solution that best fits FNHA's Technology environment.
- Proven skills in developing strategic Solutions Architecture plans
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks
- Ability to lead cross functional/departmental teams and working groups.
