Compensation: $49.61-58.74 per hour (Appx $90,599 - $107,273 annually) Rate commensurate with experience.

Job Description
The City of Delta is currently looking for an outstanding candidate to join its Information Services Division in the role of Senior Network Administrator. The incumbent will supervise, maintain, and further develop the City's network and infrastructure environment. The incumbent will be accountable for all aspects of networking, including evaluating opportunities for improvements; designing and developing new solutions; conducting upgrades; managing projects; maintaining day to day operations of the network systems; and, mentoring staff.
Objectives of the Role
- Maintain high levels of availability, currency, and service delivery of the network infrastructure
- In collaboration with Delta's Cyber Security Officer, ensure cyber security and privileged account management practices are implemented and followed
- Understand stakeholder needs and develop networking solutions and refinements that efficiently deliver connectivity on project initiatives
- Be the technical networking expert for the City
- Take a leadership role in developing and maintaining network architecture for the City
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains effective and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, consultants, and users
- Provides network support to the user community
- Conducts upgrades, developments, patches, and other activities relating to networking
- Oversees and monitors the City's networking environment
- Documents and maintains networking diagrams and information for effective planning
- Assesses and analyses technology project requirements to recommend and develop solutions
- Manages networking projects
- Collaborate with IT operations staff and mentor one Network Administrator
- Performs other related duties as required
Examples of Work
- Review and respond appropriately to notifications on network health
- Deploy firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless equipment
- Collaborate on large projects and build out related networking components
- Configure and deploy network-related software and utilities
- Travel to remote facilities to troubleshoot and repair network issues
- Provide recommendations on and implement network improvements to create improve administrative and technical network efficiencies
- Create network and fibre optic design drawings as required
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or information technology supplemented by a CCNA certification
- Experience with fibre optics technology, including design and implementation of outside plant and in-building systems
- Knowledge and experience with Fortigate firewall technology (including policy management), IPSec and SSL VPN tunneling configurations for client and site-to-site connections
- Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) configuration on Juniper routers
- Wireless implementation with FortiAPs, Aruba IAPs, and Wifi Controllers
- Centrally-managed security suites including Carbon Black CB Defense and Barracuda
- Mobile device management systems such as Blackberry Enterprise Server
- VMware networking
- NetApp networking
- Cisco VoIP phone systems including call manager, attendant console, and voice gateways
Required Licences, Certificates and Registrations
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia
- MCSE - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
