What does the Bench Tax department look like?

At Bench, we want to ensure that clients feel supported beyond their bookkeeping. Therefore we created the Bench Tax team to support our clients when it comes to the tax filing process. With Bench Tax we will ensure our clients can ditch the tax season stress, forever. We're a startup within a startup; a small but mighty team working cross-functionally within Bench as well as working closely with our tax partner, Taxfyle.

As a Coordinator on the Bench Tax Team , you do NOT need any tax knowledge or experience to be successful! You will communicate with our clients in the form of inbound calls, outbound calls, emails and texts. The Bench Tax Coordinator will ensure that the Bench Tax Team has the most up to date information to fully support our clients during their tax filing. The Bench Tax Coordinator will also make sure that our clients have all of the information they need to fully participate in the process and feel set up for success. This role is pivotal to our clients having a positive and successful tax season. The Bench Tax Coordinator also partners directly with various teams internally and externally to get the job done.

Client Engagement

At the core of everything we do is our clients. As a Tax Coordinator with Bench Tax, you will obsess over achieving positive tax outcomes for our clients. You will be expected to be responsive and bias towards action when supporting and navigating though escalations/complex client situations.

• Connecting with our clients (via phone, email, and platform) to ensure a timely delivery of their tax services
• Helping clients to maintain an accurate tax filing through education and support
• Monitor and manage the delivery of our tax services within our partner, Taxfyle's, platform to ensure our clients are getting the best possible experience
• Use your knowledge of the Bench Tax processes to respond to and action inquiries & requests from various team members across Bench

• Be accountable to deliver on the Bench Tax Team's quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Participate in the ideation and systematic improvement process that contribute to us building better systems, tools and processes to deliver superior results for our clients and fellow Benchmates

What you'll need:

• Work well with other individuals and teams in a flexible work environment. Comfortable collaborating cross functionally with other Benchmates to enhance the client experience.
• Strive to be on the pulse of everything, whether that be stepping in to solve a problem, actively participating in ideation or communicating with various stakeholders to get things done!

It could be an even better fit if you have:

• Experience in Salesforce or other CRMs is a plus.

What you'll get:

• At Bench we share information freely and openly whenever possible. You'll start at a base salary of $49,065 per year, with a tax season bonus of $1,000, the total earnings are $50,065.
• In addition, we offer an extended benefits package that includes paid vacation, unlimited paid flex days, and full health, dental, and vision.

• Bench has a number of Affinity Groups - groups of people who have shared identities and experiences! The purpose of these groups is to support underrepresented Benchmates and amplify their voices.
• Bench is moving towards being a fully remote organization and we're in the process of closing our Vancouver HQ. We are looking at alternative solutions to bring teams together for collaboration and connection.
• We currently focus our hiring efforts in the following provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
• You'll have access to our Home Office Setup Fund, to ensure that you have everything you need to work comfortably from home, from day one.

  
  

• You will also have the opportunity to work internationally for up to 90 days per calendar year.
