The mandate for the non-profit New Ventures BC Society (NVBC) is to recognize, encourage, and develop entrepreneurship and innovation in B.C.'s start-up technology sector.

Since 2000, NVBC has supported this mandate by offering education, mentorship, networking, cash prizes and recognition. Outcomes have included thousands of new jobs, enhanced entrepreneurial skills, increased investment, technology commercialization, and above all, economic growth for B.C.

19 years of supporting innovation in BC

The New Ventures BC Competition started in 2000 under the direction of Wal van Lierop, to encourage innovation in BC's tech sector. Since then, we've supported 2360 startups, who have created 3720+ jobs and have raised 302 million in financing, right here in BC. New Ventures BC is a non-profit organization that receives funding from both government and corporate sponsors.
