The core of DevOps is continuous productivity improvements. I.e., changing how developers do their day to day work. Few people like workflow changes when they are urgently working on product releases with tight schedules. Least of all the senior execs who are patiently waiting for that next release.
As SW Dev Managers, you have a key role to play in your companies' DevOps transitions. You know the culture. You have connections to the directors and C-level execs. And you engage all the players to define priorities in upcoming release cycles. All of these are critical for success with DevOps.
Larry Fast is going to present, "Why DevOps is sooo different. How we can help."
About the speaker:
Larry has worn a lot of hats over his 30 years as a software developer. Add manager after build, release, internal tools, testing, documentation, DevOps. The centre of all those roles is workflows, automation and transitions. He has also worked on products ranging from IoT to legacy mainframe services. Currently he's building a consulting business helping companies navigate DevOps transitions.
