"A year ago I decided to dramatically change the engineering culture at Bench. I've learned a ton along the way. This talk is about how we uncovered our dissatisfaction with our existing culture, designed principles to define our new one, and most importantly, the systems we created to ensure those principles were used every day by every member of our team, not just another list of things on the wall."
About the speaker:
Blake is the Senior Director of Technology at Bench; he was promoted into this role at 8am the morning he came back from a 6-month paternity leave. So, if you're looking for someone who learns on the fly, Blake is your man. He also advertises himself as one of the very few technology leaders who studied musical theatre in college. Like most folks at Bench, he's just a little outside the normal mold.
