Schneider Electric Named Among the 50 Companies That Are Changing the World by Fortune Magazine

Burnaby, BC, September 13, 2016--(T-Net)--Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation (with major offices in BC), announced that it has been recognized by Fortune Magazine in its 2016 Change the World list.
The Group ranks 24 in this ranking that highlights companies addressing global social problems as part of their core business strategy and integrating societal needs into their corporate strategy. Globally the list recognized companies making intentional efforts to prove the profit motive can be harnessed to alleviate some of the world's most persistent social ills.
Schneider Electric has been named for its Access to Energy program, which brings electrical power to people and communities without and trains local workers to ensure sustainability. On its website, Fortune Magazine notably highlighted Schneider Electric's off-grid solar backup solution that powered 128 Kenyan schools and the Group's training initiatives in energy management in Africa, Asia and South America for disadvantaged youth's people.
