Vancouver, BC, August 23, 2016--(T-Net)--Recon Instruments, an Intel company, announced the launch of the Recon Partner Program, an initiative that empowers developers, independent software vendors, and system integrators with an array of resources to facilitate the deployment and monetization of software for Recon's current and future enterprise smart-eyewear solutions.
The Recon Partner Program provides the following benefits:
“The Recon Partner Program is a tremendously valuable resource for the enterprise ecosystem,” said Christopher Croteau, Senior Director of Strategic Business Development, Head-Worn Devices, Intel. “This program doesn't just facilitate and accelerate the work of Recon Partners from a development perspective; it also enables them to monetize their software by leveraging Intel's customer base as well as our sales-and-marketing resources.”
Already, Recon Partner Program members include APX Labs, Atheer, and Augmate, three pioneers in software solutions for enterprise wearables. Additional developers and organizations can apply to become Recon Partners today.
In order to be eligible for membership, applicants must:
Recon Jet™ is modular, outdoor-optimized smart eyewear powered by Android-based software. It features ruggedized (ANSI Z87.1-compliant) and water-resistant components, a sunlight-readable display, a selection of user-swappable clear and tinted lenses, support for prescription inserts, and a user-swappable battery. Put together, these features enable prolonged wear in demanding environments, including those typical of endurance sports.
Recon Jet™ Pro features the same hardware as Jet along with an operating system optimized for enterprise software solutions. Enterprise developers can get started writing software for Jet Pro today using the Recon SDK. The Recon Enterprise SDK, scheduled for release later this quarter, will give enterprise developers additional tools to help them get the most out of Jet Pro.
In industries like field service, manufacturing, and logistics, Jet Pro can radically transform workflows by giving workers a hands-free way to access mission-critical information, make see-what-I-see video calls, and interface with remote ERP systems. Through these transformations, Jet Pro has the potential to drive significant operational efficiency gains.
“By leveraging the robust features and versatile design of Intel's Recon Jet Pro smart eyewear, we can offer an efficient wearable-computing solution that works out of the box and makes hands-on work easier and safer,” said Ryan Fink, VP, Business Development, Atheer. “Our AiR Suite for Enterprise software running on Intel's Recon Jet Pro platform facilitates collaboration, management, rapid task flow creation (with drag-and-drop design), and deployment to deskless professionals in the industrial space.”
