Large Farming Cooperative's Busy Audit Team Required Agile Technology to Automate Manual Processes
Vancouver, BC, July 5, 2016--(T-Net)--ACL recently announced GROWMARK, Inc., a regional agricultural cooperative spanning more than 40 states, has added ACL's cloud-based platform, ACL™ GRC, to standardize and automate its audit and risk management workflow.
This will eliminate manual processes and enable the company's audit team to perform more efficient audits, improve risk-based audit reporting, planning and review processes, and re-allocate time to more high-value projects.
GROWMARK's internal audit team was stifled by time-consuming manual processes that often exposed them to missed deadlines and difficulty identifying key risks. The team needed to automate and standardize these processes, freeing their time to understand the underlying causes of these risks and ascertain appropriate next steps.
“Audits were very difficult to manage. Our team was trudging through documents just to figure out what it was they had in front of them. It was like trying to find a needle in a proverbial haystack of paper,” said Bill Harrison, director of internal audit at GROWMARK.
“By implementing ACL GRC, we are able to provide our members with a valued professional product that focuses on the important issues in a timely manner. No other audit management software options came close to meeting our needs without significant expensive customization.”
GROWMARK's audit team needed a solution that is both efficient and that can expand with their team as the company grows. The potential for future collaboration with vendors and partners on the platform was also a bonus. The scalability and ease of use of ACL GRC with ACL™ Analytics for integrated data analysis made it an easy choice, and they engaged ACL to help implement the technology and best practices.
“ACL GRC will provide GROWMARK with a framework for productive execution, so precious governance resources are focused more on audit and analysis and less on documenting,” commented Dan Zitting, chief product officer of ACL. “The team can now also devote additional time to risk assessment and identifying additional risk areas, to become a more strategic business partner to executive management and better contribute to improving the long-term profitability of member-owners.”
