Company Plans on Deploying its Sync Engine SDK on Xamarin Component Store
Vancouver, BC, May 24, 2016--(T-Net)--Colligo, a leader in mobile content management (MCM) solutions for Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365 and OneDrive for Business, recently announced plans to expand its application development with Xamarin, the Microsoft-acquired cross-platform development software, across its suite of mobile apps.
Plans are also underway to make Colligo's multi back-end sync engine available to developers in the Xamarin Component Store.
“We have been developing applications on Xamarin for the past year, so we were very pleased to hear about Microsoft's acquisition of the mobile app development platform. The deeper integration between Microsoft Visual Studio and Xamarin technologies will enable us to rapidly develop and deploy mobile apps as part of our mobile content management platform,” comments Dan Mills, CTO of Colligo.
Colligo developed its recently announced native app Colligo Briefcase for Android using Xamarin's cross-platform software. Given the speed and ease with which they developed this app, the company now has plans to continue using Xamarin in new versions of its mobile document management apps for iOS, Android, Mac and Windows.
Plans are also underway to make Colligo's multi back-end sync engine available through an SDK that will be published to the Xamarin Component Store.
Taking a device-centric approach, rather than a server-centric one, Colligo's sync engine has the ability to synchronize content across multiple repositories with native apps that provide as rich a user experience on mobile devices as on desktops; it eliminates the need to support a new server to house corporate information and is, therefore, more efficient as it does not require a two-step synchronization process. Further, it is more secure as data is only shared between the service and users' devices.
“The combination of Xamarin and Visual Studio represents the best end-to-end mobile development experience available, and the additional value that companies like Colligo bring our customers through the extensibility of our tools and services is key component of our developer platform,” said Tom Lindeman, director, Worldwide Developer Partner Ecosystem, Cloud & Enterprise Division, Microsoft.
