IEEE Power & Energy Society Vancouver Chapter is pleased to announce a hands-on workshop on "Protection Relays, Automation, IEC 61850 and Event Analysis" brought to you in collaboration with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). The chapter kindly invites all PES members and guests to attend this workshop. Please also feel free to extend this invitation to those who you think would be interested in this workshop.
As this is a hands-on workshop, attendees are asked to bring their own laptops. Installation files will be provided prior to the start of the workshop.

Setting a Protection Relay: Navigate through SEL QuickSet software and send settings to a relay
Simplify event retrieval with an automation controller: Configure SEL RTAC controller to automatically retrieve event reports from a relay
Lunch (provided)
Event and Fault Analysis: Use SEL SynchroWave Event software to review event files recorded by a relay
Fast Bus Tripping with IEC 61850: Program an SEL relay to send a GOOSE message to another relay
