How do you keep track of a developer's performance? What metrics do you use? We've got a lot of data about things developers do - thanks to the tooling we use. It's easy to use that data incorrectly, so our speaker Andy McKay will discuss some pitfalls and some examples of using this data for good and he'll lead us into discussions.
Andy McKay is currently an Engineering Manager at GitHub, formerly at an Engineering Manager at Mozilla. He's been involved in the Python and
Django communities for a long time, but these days spends more time
cycling and curling and other Canadian things.
Thanks James Scicluna from ACL for sponsoring the space and the food. Pizza and drinks will be served.
Feel free to invite your friends or fellow managers to join us as well. For the courtesy of the organizers/host, please RSVP so that we can get the right amount of refreshments.

Please RSVP if you are coming and please update promptly if your plan changes. Our "No Show" policy - we will remove you from the group if you RSVP but do not show up a few times. We hope that it would provide some fairness to our hosting company, our organizers as well as other people who got onto the wait list wanting to come to our events.
If you have a location to host our events in the future or if you would like to present in our group, please contact our organizers Vivian Lau or David Slater. We would love to hear from you!
